Offering SIM Strong Authentication to Internet Services (presented at 3GSM 2006 in Barcelona)

This paper presents an innovative service called SIM strong authentication service that extends the usage of GSM SIM authentication to Internet Web services. The goal of this proof-of-concept is to demonstrate the possibility of implementing innovative service in a heterogeneous environment using Liberty Alliance Federation Standard.

Offering SIM Strong Authentication to Internet Services (revised version)

This paper presents an innovative service called SIM strong authentication service that extends the usage of GSM SIM authentication to Internet Web services. The goal of this proof-of-concept is to demonstrate the possibility of implementing innovative service in a heterogeneous environment using Liberty Alliance Federation Standard. This paper shows how the SIM strong authentication is supplemented with an SMS-based mechanism.

Unified SIM Strong Authentication for CardSpace and Liberty Alliance (presented at 3GSM 2007 in Barcelona)

This paper presents an innovative service called Unified SIM Strong Authentication that integrates both the Microsoft Windows CardSpace and the Liberty Alliance Identity Management with the GSM SIM authentication. Ubisafe, Telenor, Gemalto, Linus, and Oslo University College with the collaboration of Sun, Ulticom and Lucent have implemented a proof-of-concept of the service in Oslo.

Secured and simple IMS Voice on heterogeneous devices (presented at 3GSM 2008 in Barcelona)

This paper presents an IMS Voice solution that is ubiquitously available on heterogeneous devices, both fixed and mobile. The solution includes an innovative device, the IMS smart dongle that allows the user to make phone call from any PC by simply inserting the smart dongle into the USB port. Now that the user can make and receive phone calls anywhere and at anytime, it is essential to have adequate security measures. Due to the heterogeneity of the devices, the presented IMS Voice solution incorporates several authentication schemes. The IMS Voice client is authenticated using the 3GPP defined ISIM while the Generic Bootstrapping Architecture or the SIM strong authentication are used at Web application sign-on.
